The Saii Corporation - …is, to all intents and purposes, dead

I’m not even sure if that’s what the album is called. It could be ‘six kids and three years’, it could be ‘death is a dance move’; all of these things are on the cover somewhere. Maybe it’s all of them. This is beside the point though. The point is that this is a budget compilation of songs from throughout the bands existence and is a goodbye present of sorts as the band are calling it a day. Which is quite sad. But what a parting gift. Saii Corporation play what I will tentatively term as space rock. My ambivalence towards this terming is largely because space rock usually goes from very quiet to very loud. This music never quite manages the very quiet bit. Quite quiet, yes, but not very. Perhaps I should call it atmospheric hardcore. But whatever it is it’s good. It’s not the best space rock in the world (though some of it is absolutely magnificent), not even the best heavy space rock, but then you’d be hard pressed to get anything out of any of those other bands for a quid. So the real question is, can you afford not to buy this?
