Anderson - Last Autumn
As much as they may dislike it, the best way to introduce Anderson is as 3 members of the recently departed skate-punkers Spoon 9. They have, however changed their sound somewhat, and this EP has more of a plain rock sound than more of the same, with the exception of track one, which to be fair could be straight out of any pop-punk bands catalogue. It has a strong melody, and is a strong song that I could see myself dancing around to this summer.
The second track (sorry my copy has no track names) starts with a slow bass intro, before kicking into a track that reminds me of 'Pablohoney' era Radiohead in places, only without so much angst. The third track is a searing instrumental, that builds up all the way through with a great guitar riff over the top. All in all this is a greatly varied CD, that shows great promise from a band that may well stand out in the current scene that is breeding more and more emo-pop-punk bands by the day.
