Vanilla Pod - Surrounded By Idiots
To be honest, this is quite dumb music, fast, chugging pop punk
with a great sense of melody. The lyrics aren't dumb though, which is admirable.
Songs tackle drinking to forget (Waterdown) and the music industry (Surrounded
By Idiots) rather than just the fact that Stacy's mom has massive jugs.
This doesn't mean that the music isn't fun though, it most certainly is and has
a definite sing-along quality a lot of the time.
There's not a lot of variation to what you'll be listening to here, by the end
of it you might be a bit easily distracted but it would be very hard to have
successfully inserted a ballad or anything here, so I'll forgive them.
While I don't doubt that this album is completely perfect for a lot of pop punk
fans, Vanilla pod do seem to lack, on record at least, a certain intensity that
I like to hear in my music. But good overall.
